Let me start off my recap of Widespread Panic’s intimate benefit concert at Irving Plaza last night by saying the band was firing on all cylinders and sounded great. But as good as they were, I had the worst concert experience I’ve ever had in my life. The venue was packed so far beyond capacity that the ceiling started falling down. The All Good Festival from West Virginia is being streamed right now.
Listening to Widespread Panic play with Derek trucks. Really cool that they are playing this live and you can listen at home. Technology is truly amazing.
Panic started at 10p EST and a band called The Bridge is going on at 1:15a EST with Dark Star Orchestra going on at 2a.
Will be a fun night.

While _Ball_ is seldom listed as a Panic fan's favorite album, it definitely has some quality tracks on it. "Tortured Artist" is one of those songs that I can listen to and then immediately listen to again. but you feel completely burned out?
Widespread just got added to Bonnaroo and I'm pretty psyched.

September 26 and September 27 were great nights for me. I started going to Widespread shows in 2005; but with the addition of Jimmy Herring on guitar, it was like seeing them again for the first time. The band energy and the crowd dynamics were unbelievable. And much thanks to bands who make their shows available for download, because it's easy for me to let the concert experience influence my judgement of musical quality :P After listening to this show numerous times ...
