When I was growing up, Journey was a big hit with me, but it was before the band changed so much. The album "Future" was the last album that really interested me from them. Sorry but when they added Steve Perry, I just was not on board. I loved the guitar work of Neil Schon from the beginning, but for me, Steve Perry changed that band way too much. Good for them because they did what they had to to be successful, but I couldn't handle his vocals. It might upset some people ou... MORE

The Church were way ahead of their time, although they have lost me at times along the way with their prog rock explorations this is classic power pop that still sounds great.

It's Sunday, it's Easter, and not everyone is happy in the world. But the sun is shining, it's spring, and there is a new video by the Church. People can get twisted up over shit and push out ugliness, or they can just forget about it and stop the ugliness. You can make a choice to leave it be. You could do that, Keith, if you wanted to.

As I wind down the final videos to 100, I wanted to be sure I hit some of most favorite tracks, and this certainly qualifies. As an album, The Church's 1990 "Gold Afternoon Fix" LP was a major disappointment after "Starfish", which featured their worldwide hit "Under The Milky Way". But there was one great thing about "Gold"; it contained a song that I have literally listened to thousands of times since 1990 - "Metropolis".

Can I tell you about my favorite album to work to?
I bought this when I was 12 or 13, and hated it. Then when I was 16 I gave it another chance and have ever since have had it on loop when I do my painting. If you've ever seen my stuff, it is rather fitting.
Funny thing about this album, ever since high school my friends who were punk, goth, skinhead, hippie whathaveyou...they all loved it and bought it too. In fact, I had 3 roommates over the course of time ... MORE

As I get older, it is more difficult to stay up late on a school night. I always pay for my enjoyment by being completely knackered the whole next day. Sometimes it is worth it and sometimes it isn't.

I was very excited about seeing The Church later this month, so excited that I even made this for the show. But now things are slowing a bit with various factors taking hold of me: the high ticket price suddenly bothers me; it being on a weekday is making me sleepy already (yes I have to get up buck ass early for work); a hardcore fan telling me their recent shows have been "okay" and the consecutive disappointments of bands past their prime that I have been seeing the past 2...
