Today I tore down an entire fence line of jasmine and moon flowers that had taken over the backyard... As well as two tonne of plant debris I also took down about 8 metres of trellis that threatened to take itself down... I had my glasses on my head whilst I was doing it (forgot they were there) and after falling in the pond twice and falling over with said trellis on top of me once, yes I was looking a treat... I realised my glasses (brown Gucci’s mind you) had indeed l... MORE
This Summer's been an interesting one! I've been on a long and treacherous journey filled with convicts, Cossacks, highwaymen of all sorts, gunfighters, Indian healers, Bulgarian mental patients, Estonian sorceresses, Moldovan muraders, Portuguese BMX riders, Lithuanian office managers, and I think there was a Norwegian black metaler or two.
Nonetheless, I've obtained a fresh perspective and things are going pretty damn well for yours truly.... it's really just... MORE
This is how it began my devotion to The Doors with my 7 inch vinyl single of Light My Fire. It was the most beloved piece of wax that I had in my collection as a child. There was no other single that I coveted more than that single. I played that single over and over so much, to just, transcribe the lyrics. Just a few words before this plays.... I'm not what you'd call a Doors fan. It's not like I have anything against them.... it's just that I feel that Morrison's been idolized a bit too much. But then something comes along to drive a nail through that theory. Here's Morrison at his best: strange, shy, charismatic, outgoing, prophetic.....
Soldier in famous photo never defeated 'demons' PINEHURST, N.C. - Officers had been to the white ranch house at 560 W. Longleaf many times before over the past year to respond to a "barricade situation." Each had ended uneventfully, with Joseph Dwyer coming out or telling police in a calm voice through the window that he was OK. But this time was different. The Iraq War veteran had called a taxi service to take him to the emergency room. But when the driver arrived, Dw... MORE

In an era before Sony brought the Walkman to the world and long before Apple unleashed the iPod to the modern world, did you ever listen to tapes? Silly question for most people over 25. What better day than Mother's Day should film director Allison Anders share her answer:
Wow did I ever! I listened to 8 track tapes kids! I was thinking about this actually on the plane last night from Brazil to NYC, I was listening to my IPOD on shuffle and "Spanish Caravan" by The Do... MORE
