These recordings are about forty years apart and the last was recorded forty years ago roughly. Fascinating.
For me, there are songs that I love instantly and there are songs that have to grow on me. Skip James' Devil Got My Woman was one of the ones I loved instantly (and yes I heard it for the first time while watching Ghost World). The vocals were just so haunting it made my heart literally ache.
