I had the convenient pleasure of seeing Matt Mahaffey, (sElf, Wired All Wrong, Beck) perform a solo gig in Johnson City, TN over the Thanksgiving break. Matt is originally from northeast TN and thus has many friends in the area's small but steady music scene. One of those friends organized a benefit show for the late Mike Mahaffey's kids' college fund, much like the one last year at the Exit/In in Nashville, which featured sElf in full force. Honestly. A japanese import of Gizmodgery, the real thing, does anyone have it in their possession? I wanted to know what it looks like (I have seen the album cover on Amazon) in terms of the liner notes, i.e., everything except the cover.
If no one does I will settle for a nice round-up of comments on how amazing this album is.
