got to see PP for the second time last night at webster hall. they were great live, per usual :) i got some good shots of them since i was pretty close. they officially announced that they are headlining a tour (finally after almost 15 years) in february. i'll leave you with this audio of them performing live for the daytrotter sessions. even though i think alex was sick this day. here's a few pics from the show too.

I remember watching the promos for The OC when it first aired. At the time, I was living the life of a poor graduate student in my ghetto fabulous apartment. I could only afford basic cable, and my television viewing habits were rather embarrassing and unhealthy. For instance, I was totally psyched simply to have the WB. Oh, those were the days! Just got the new album from Phantom Planet! So for the next few days I will be in solitude, listening and relistening, and just feeling it out. I don't want to say too much before I give it several good run-throughs. But so far it's catchy tunes and catchy lyrics. What a great combination. So far the highlights are Leader, Dropped, Geronimo, and Ship Lost At Sea. Expect a review in the near future. And i didn't forget about getting you some songs Tyler :)... MORE

Since Christmas is in (holy crap) five days, I have decided to make a list of the top 10 christmas songs that I enjoy. Don't see your favorite on here? Let me know. By the way, the one thing that I have asked for this Christmas is a book called "Touching From a Distance", a biography of the former singer of Joy Division, Ian Curtis. Sometimes - like yesterday where I spent near three hours driving my father around including rush hour on 101 and El Camino, or last Wednesday when I spent something like two hours on 101 trying to get to the Warfield for a concert and then having to drive home from Berkeley at one in the morning, which was a horrible experiment in Red Bull and screaming along to Gym Class Heroes songs in an effort to keep myself awake - I really wish "California" by Phantom Planet was our... this year was all over the map for me. i spent at least a month and a half listening to strictly rock trios. i rediscovered the jimi hendrix experience and cream, finally listened to jeff beck (beck, bogert and appice) and robin trower and even dusting off my stevie ray records. there was a good stretch where, thanks to jason and laura at bullmoose, i was exposed to groups like tomorrow, thomas and richard frost, the nazz and the yardbirds (who i have been meaning to liste...
