Looks like that Jim James benefit for Obama scheduled for tonight in Chicago won't be happening. The My Morning Jacket frontman slipped, fell and hit his head at last night's show in Iowa City. Injuries have forced James to not only cancel the Schubas gig tonight benefiting Democratic Presidential Candidate Barack Obama, but also to postpone the MMJ shows in Chicago later this week. Okay, okay...you guys have been talking about My Morning Jacket and they've been spinning their songs on my favorite local radio station. I trust all of these sources but for some foolish reason, I haven't picked up the albums yet. Shame, shame too...go ahead tell me bout it. My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James has announced a second acoustic show in support of US Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama . James , who is set to play at a similar benefit show tonight (October 8) at Schubas in Chicago, is now set to perform in support of the presidential candidate on October 16 at the Water Tower in Louisville, Kentucky. I Popped Marigold’s Cherry… That’s right… you heard me correctly – or I guess I should say you READ me correctly. Last Thursday, I finally ended my summer concert drought and my long wait for catching My Morning Jacket in 2008. The band played Charlottesville Pavilion, my hometown venue. It's a great outdoor pavilion tacked onto the end of Charlottesville's downtown pedestrian mall and an awesome place to see show. The crowd was a bit sparse as the show got started. Perhaps it was the Thursday night bill or the band's attempt at being super punctual so as to play the maximum amo... MORE
