This DJ Shadow dude is a frickin' genius. I wish I could pick his brain. I know I'm jockin', the guy but fuck he's awesome. And I totally respect him even more for doing the OUTSIDER album because he broke away from his usual style and made an experimental classic with Bay Area Hyphy artists like Turf Talk and E-40. I love listening to DJ Shadow. A lot of folks think Endtroducing was his best work, but I'm more partial to "The Private Press". This is off of his last album, which I was pretty disappointed with, except for this song and a couple of others where he really shined like his old self.... MORE

There are certain songs that just ooze brilliance. They make you lose words & fill your head with images. This is one of mine. Take a piece of catharsis, dip it in sweet-tasting tears, spray it with sparks & harmony, add a hint of heart-warming melancholy and you'll get the taste. This is a video with a live version of it.
