First recorded in 72 by Otis Clay, “Trying to Live My Life Without You” was his biggest seller. In 1979 The Eagles had a top-ten hit with a slightly reworked version of it they titled “The Long Run” and took writing credit for – clearly it was more cover than original, and not a particularly good one at that. Got the hint to post some Brinsly Schwarz. Wonderful stuff it is. This band featured a young Nick Lowe on bass and most vocals. Figured I'd start with the song that catches most people attention as a surprize. This is the original version of Peace, Love and Understanding sung by Nick Lowe, who wrote it and produced the much more known later cover version by Elvis Costello.
