HELP!
I need some help with a mixtape. I'm looking for songs about nature or the environment. Lovesongs to Mother Earth, rants about its destruction, sarcastic asides that are still catchy lil ditties. Anything the MOG-verse can come up with, I'd like to hear them.
Thanks in advance good citizens of MOG-itopia.
P.S. - The only ones I can think of so far are Tegan & Sara's "Our Trees" and The Talking Heads' "Nothing But Flowers". There's a Neil Young song I've heard before, but can't think of the name.....
It's almost not Sunday, so I best be getting my covers on.
I got this in a whirlwind of downloading chaos a while back and didn't even realize I had it til I put my iPod on shuffle the other day. Sam Cooke is my favorite soul singer of all time and to hear one of my favorite bands of today cover him filled me with dread/fear/horror/relief/elation. The spare, almost a cappella version here reminds me of Cooke's Night Beat sessions.
And now you can enjoy it before bedtime...

Ok, so I'll try to stay more on a regular schedule with my Mog since summer's here and school is over. I'm crawling out of the hole now and have almost made it to the light.
While checking around my favorite sites today I saw this little video trailer for the new Street Fighter video game. I'm not a gamer anymore, but I had to put this up. The classic music fits so perfectly.
Enjoy!

I'm not quite sure if this is what you are looking for, but I think "The Gold Finch and the Red Oak Tree" by Ted Leo and the Pharmacists is beautiful and might fit.

Here's a few more I found on a quick search of my music collection:
Treehugger -Kimya Dawson & Antsy Pants

If Trees Could Speak - The Flashbulb (sorry, I dont have an mp3 of this one, but you might want to track it down)
I'll try to think of some more. good luck with your mix!
hmm...sorry about the failed mp3s and the randomly massive spacing. eh, I tried!
