As a new pledge here on MOG, everytime I post about the virtues of a folkie or singer/songwriter type (Jam Bands included) I must follow with something that ... frankly .. kicks a little more ass.

I attribute it a little to my advancing age which requires a conscious effort to avoid the "if it's too loud you're too old" cliche.

MSG - I recommend everything from the Black Keys but if you wanted a good starting place pick up thickfreakness (2nd album) which is also available through eMusic.
As for Jesus Lizard, I would almost guarantee that These Arms Are Snakes cite them as influencers.
