Now that the bailout of Wall Street is law and the rusty machinery of government is about to buy toxic commodities, I heard that the Treasury department is going to out source some of the job since experts are needed. Where are those experts, pray tell? The picture above should give you a clue as to where they can be found. We're in for more "interesting times" with this latest development.
Here's an appropriate tune about small time grifters that seems appropriate. There are a few things I've always wondered about over the years, and I'ii list them for the amusement of those who know more about Economics than I.
I recall some years ago that Wall Street would go into a slump when American jobs were created, and there was dancing in the streets when jobs were lost. Is this still true?
What happens when the out sourcers run out of cheaper labor in the world? (China's too expensive, Vietnam is headed that way, and the bloom is off Mumbai's call centers.)
Can CEO jobs be out sourced or is this fate reserved for "Joe/Jane Lunchbucket"?
Will what's left of Merrill-Lynch still be "Bullish on America"?

It's 2315 locally, so this is a Sunday under The Covers-to-be. In spite of atmospheric sound effects, this 1978 cover of "Here's That Rainy Day" is a triumph for Phyllis Hyman.
On second thought, I'll write what was on my mind; "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head." Paul Newman has gone to argue with Edwin Booth over interpreting Shakespeare at the Celestial Playhouse. B.J. Thomas' song isn't in the MP3 or CD collection, but I've found something better than posting a lacrymose track from the "Corrina, Corrina" soundtrack.
Here's to two giants in their respective fields of endeavor. Peace be with you both.

A duet with Michael Henderson, this track asks if the break up is permanent. A top ten hit on the 1981 Billboard R&B charts.

OMG - I have not heard this song in years. I actually had to take a break in listening to Phyllis Hyman. I grew up on her music but when she passed I personally took it hard for I did not understand why she would end her life so tragically. But then I never knew anything about her. I recently bought a book that was written about her life. I will eventually read it but listening to her music always brings good memories for me.
