i don't have MTV2 (or maybe i do but i don't watch TV lately, and by lately, i mean years) but i did go to the website for something work-related and thought it was far less contrived than MTV (or maybe that's just 'cuz it's new).

anyhoos, i miss 120 Minutes. and (whispering) i don't own any MMJ album, too... you need to hide this post from Mike MariG, or poke his eyes so he doesn't find out. (;

Guees, who is dog tired because they saw MMJ in concert last night? ;) It was mind blowing to say the least. Will post a live clip on the other M today. SunnyH, you have to find and seek out MMJ's Okonokos DVD and rock it on the 5.1 surround if you have the ability. IF not, you need to rock MMJ's Okonoko's cd version of the the same show. MMJ is all about the live sound.

Thanks Marigold and SunnyH for this info, then were just here but didnt see them at a local pub/out door concert event. I really love these guys. Have you seen there BCS video? (Black Cab Session) for this song? OMG, check it out! Marigold, thanks for the tip, will have to get that DVD for sure. Let me know when/where you post the live clip hey?

I think 120 Minutes comes out in repeats on VH1 Classics (at least it used to).  I have some great episodes recorded featuring deep cuts by Suicidal Tendencies (well, maybe not DEEP), Janes Addiction, Nine Inch Nails, Bauhaus and others. 

As far as MTV2 is concerned, the only time I watch is when Subteranean plays a video in between 5 minutes of commericials and continues doing that for an hour or so.  Thank goodness for TiVo.

Marigold!  I forgot you were seeing them last night, lucky tired dog!  What a fine coincidence!  Will be picking up that DVD I heard you and jameson talking about it not to long ago.  You're idea of hunting for poking others eyes out is fine by me.  But her and I may accidentally sneak one in between the hugs. ; )  

Indiana - Sorry to hear you missed them, regretfully I missed em too when they were not too far away about a month ago...but we'll just have to get that DVD and I'll be checking for that BCS video, thanks for the recommendation!

Eric - I will never forget some of the eye opening experiences I had thanks to videos on 120 minutes...Jane's, NIN and New Order at the top of the list. Not to mention creepy moments with Butthole Surfers.  I'll have to check for the subterranean schedule cause I'm not privy to it and get my DVR in gear.

P.S. Isn't anyone onto those characters up top?  From an infamouse book we 30+ year olds read in our younger days...?

It's vids like this that make me realize that MTV hasn't lived up to it's potential whatsoever. Very sad. This reminds me of Bjork's 'Human Behavior' vid but also like 'Where The Wild Things Are' like you said(which btw, I liked but it kinda freaked me out as a kid so I didn't get into all that much):

I totally remember that book from back in the day. I always thougt it was a bit creepy and stayed away from it as a kid. To this day I have no idea what the basic plot of it even is.

Sunny: Nothing's gonna change the horror that is MTV Networks, but a successful and relatively creative band like MMJ is still gonna try to bang out some memorable audio-visuals - because they can.

And good one, August! That Michel Gondry is quite a director, no? On the basis of little more than the superb feature "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" - lovely and off-kilter - and that "Human Behaviour" clip, he's high on my list. Throw in "Be Kind - Rewind" and "The Science of Sleep" and his originality is off the charts.

and the MMJ song is equally impressive on its own.

MMJ are a huge find for me this year and that's a great little video. Is it actually Gondry or simply Gondry-like? I'm totally out of the loop with music videos. I only watch MTV to check out how the Playboy Bunny's are doing (This week: "I made Hef a plastercast of my v----a!").

I was flipping channels the other night and saw about ten minutes of dingbat blond chicks making casts of the boobs, vagina's and asses so they could make chocolate molds of said parts. ...uh, how could I not watch. Hey do you have any chocolate? I am having a bit of a sweet tooth attack. ;)

Wonderful.  FluxCapacitor shows up and all of a sudden we're talking about "boobs, vagina's and asses"...
