Just saw this in the news page this morning :
Musical taste "defines personality"
Even without my non-direct disagreement, I'm still a little uneasy about the simplified CATEGORY of music presented there. Maybe it's just the Scottish's take of music genres and their interpretation of the correlation to human personality types?
Survey is not too long, and it's anonymous.
I took a quickie flight up north yesterday to hit the last day of this SF Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival and meet up with Wilco on the last show (this leg) of their tour. This time I brought with me a digital camera, so I can make some quick snap report of the day. I didn't explore the festival itself too much due to my inappropriate shoes. I didn't allow myself enough time to THINK ahead as I barely made it to my flight out. Although, by 10am, I already did quite a few miles of walking back and forth around the outside of the festival gate looking for the right entrance for me to get in. The festival set up was ridiculously long in distance from one end to the other. Luckily I didn't mind the mellow morning walk in the amazing San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, even with my 75 lbs on my back full of camera gear.
Once there, I pretty much tailgated Nels Cline the entire day. The weather was warm'ish overcast. I'm still assessing how huge this thing was. The sea of happy people walking, dancing, laying around everywhere like ants. Good times was seemed to be had by all.
After Wilco finished playing, we were in a mad hurry to get out of the festival. I didn't get to meet up with my friend Dave amongst the crowd of 60 thousands. I was looking forward to try to spot someone from that size of a crowd. Also another missed chance was to hear Jack Johnson. I only heard him beginning his set from the distance as the bus leaves. I was a little bit bummed since I was looking forward to see him perform. Maybe next time.....
We strolled to the Presidio stage to hear Bon Iver
The crowd behind us watching Bon Iver
Found Nate Murphy, Wilco drum tech / artist extraordinaire
Found Steve Versaw, Wilco monitor tech
Nels, Steve, and Nate, heading back to the bus
Sutro stage from the distance
We walked through the VIP tent. I don't know who that was, but cameras make people smile.
Ran into a guy Nels knew who happened to be from the same hometown as Steve. This coincidence was revealed by the guy's shirt.

Yeah, One must be immediately suspect of such "science". One can use research to prove that a cat has nine legs if you wish & do your "study" right.
hmmm a bit bizarre huh?
