I went to see Paper Lions play a show at the Bombshelter Pub at the University of Waterloo this past Friday. The band opening the show for them was called The Waking Eyes. Dave (drummer of Paper Lions) hyped them up to me before the show, so I got pretty excited when they got on stage and lived up to all the hype. The energy in the place was booming and the Waking Eyes played a show that held a general feel of Epic proportions. Their set, filled with friendly banter and audience interactions, peaked for me when they played their single, "Wolves at the Door."
Much to my pleasure I was checked the iTunes store to find that The Waking Eyes - Wolves at the Door was the free single of the week.
I very much suggest heading over to iTunes to get this single (in the Canadian store), before it is taken down. Although the epic recording doesn't come close to mimicing the live feel of the song, it is still a great track.
