Family traveling troupe Kings of Leon had been holed up in Nashville's Blackbird Studios recording their fourth studio album, and now its almost ready. I’ve noticed that the Kings of Leon don’t get enough loving on MOG. Whenever I post a story about these guys I get zilch in response. And I wonder why… You see, for me, these guys are really something. They basically got their start cause they had "the look" – vintage Southern rocker meets hipster chic. They’re lookers too. Kings of Leon is a great indie rock band that hit it big with there album Aha Shake Heartbreak in 2005, which featured some great tracks like soft and milk. They followed that up with a new album last year called because of the times. On August 2nd Kings of Leon put out there new single crawl and followed it up by putting out another single called sex on fire exactly one week later. So maybe by this point you are sick of hearing about Glastonbury- the mud, the crowds, Jay-z impersonating Oasis, did we mention the mud..... But I've found these artist snippets (by NME) quite good entertainment- hearing the artists backstage while they chill out...something about the energy of 150,0000 spectators activates artistic synapses I guess. King's of Leon's new album _Because of the Times_ isn't due until April, but I'm gonna say this now.
It's gonna be one of the greatest albums of the year. First single is "On Call".
_Youth and Young Manhood_ was a solid, well-above-average debut.
_Aha Shake Heartbreak_ absolutely incredible sophmore album.

So is it just me or is everyone else excited about 9.23.08? The Kings of Leon are coming out with their fourth album, "Only By the Night" on the 23rd of this glorious, rock-filled month. Rolling Stone got a sneak peak and told us about the changes from last album. With songs that are reminiscent of Led Zepelin, The Pixies and Curt Cobain guitar riffs; im sure to be in line early on Tuesday morning. Joining Jay-Z this year on Glastonbury's famed Pyramid stage as headliners are The Verve and Kings Of Leon. The Kings of Leon will headline the Pyramid Stage on the Friday night (June 27th), while Jay-Z will play on Saturday (June 28th) and The Verve will close out the festival on the Sunday (June 29th).
