A new report in the Washington Post says that Bruce Springsteen will play at Washington's National Mall on January 18 as part of the Barack Obama inauguration festivities. Reports are that the performance will be free and open to the public. Michael Jackson has leased a $100,000 a month mansion in Bel-Air, California. Bruce Springsteen is offering fans free downloads on Amazon.com and for Guitar Hero: World Tour as he gets ready for the release of a new Greatest Hits album (through Wal-Mart) and Working on a Dream .

Son of a bitch! Bruce Springsteen beat me to a Golden Globe nomination. Actually the Boss man had me beat already in '94 when he nabbed a shiny statue for "Streets of Philadelphia." He's up to bat again in this year's Best Original Song category. Springsteen was nominated for the '09 Golden Globe for his title-track to the Darren Aronofsky film The Wrestler. Seen it? I received an overwhelming response from everyone on their favorite holiday tunes from my post last week, so I decided to include some today.
