The ash remains of legendary Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain have gone missing from the Los Angeles area home of his rehab-prone widow Courtney Love.
Cobain's ashes were reportedly kept in a pink teddy-bear-shaped bag along with a lock of his hair and were swiped along with thousands of dollars worth of jewelery and clothing. (What? No golden shrine. One of the greatest rockers of all time was kept in a pink teddy-bear-shaped bag?)
"I can't believe anyone would take Kurt's ashes from me," Love was quoted by News Of the World.
"I find it disgusting and right now I'm suicidal." (Geez! Watch your word choices, Love!) A heroin-addicted Cobain committed suicide in 1994. His ashes were scattered inside a Buddhist temple in New York, and some went into the Wishkah River near his home in Washington. The rest were left with Love.
"If I don't get them back I don't know what I'll do," Love supposedly said in regards to the situation.
"They were all I had left of my husband. I used to take them everywhere with me just so I could feel Kurt was still with me.
"Now it feels like I have lost him all over again."
This is all extremely disturbing to me, everything from the the pink teddy-bear bag to the fact that some freak would steal those ashes away from Love and Cobain's daughter, Francis Bean. Hey sicko who stole this, if you are out there reading this give 'em back to Love. Word on the street is that eBay gives a pretty crappy return on the remains of the dead, famous or not.

I read this lastnight on another site. It's kind of shocking that someone would do this kind of thing. I don't know if I buy it. I think this may be a sick ploy for publicity ..Courtney is known to manipulate. Either way its a pretty disturbing story.

Courtney Love is a talented and accomplished singer/songwriter in her own right no matter how much everyone dislikes her as a person (and really who are any of us to say we really know what she is like? ...and her daughter has turned out wonderful) Addiction is a horrible things and it amazes me how ex- heroin addicts that are male rock singers don't get half of the hate and animosity she does. It is like she is the repository for everyone's hatred and disgust .
