You know those Christmas Weezer jingles Rivers Cuomo told Billboard.com about last week? Well, they’ve finally surfaced on the iPhone of all places (Damn it! Now I want one now, despite the fact my little stubbly fingers act all short bus when I try to type on those suckers.) Weezer partnered up with Tapulous, who call themselves "the leading iPhone applications developer" (I’m guessing tap+fabulous = tapulous), to create a multi-touch music game inspired by new Weezer Xmas carols.

Christmas With Weezer is part of the Tap Tap Revenge game series. Players tap and shake their phones to the tunes of six classic Christmas songs covered by Weezer. Once you master the tapping on Weezer's "Oh Come All Ye Faithful," "First Noel," "Hark The Herald Angel Sings," "O Holy Night," "Silent Night," and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas," you’ll get to rock out on the two Red Album tracks "Pork And Beans" and "The Greatest Man That Ever Lived" in the hard mode. The tap app will cost iPhone and iPod Touch users $4.99 and will be available "in the next few days" via www.itunes.com/appstore/.

"I love my iPhone and all the apps that you can download," Weezer drummer Pat Wilson said in a press statement. "I love that our band is the first to actually record songs specifically for an app and Tap Tap Revenge seemed like the perfect one. I am excited to tap along to what we recorded and hope it brings holiday cheer to all kinds of different thumbs and fingers."
